The RS-485 bus protocol allows for multiple devices to communicate on a Bidirectional Bus with a master USB Controller such as a PC COM port.
While it is possible to use any commercially available USB to RS485 converter with the EZStepper / EZServo products, this converter has been customized to combine the power wires with the serial data from a standard USB connector and send it to a 4 pin connector that has the same pinout as the EZStepper / EZServo 4 wire bus.
This converter is powered directly from USB and does not require external power for operation. The auxiliary power terminal may be used for EZBus power distribution up to 48V. USB ground and EZBus ground are common.
