The RS-485 bus protocol allows for multiple devices to communicate on a Bidirectional Bus with a master RS232 Controller such as a PC com port.
While it is possible to use any commercially available RS485 converter with the EZ Stepper products, this converter has been customized to combine the power wires with the serial data from a standard DB9 serial connector and send it to a 4 pin connector that has the same pinout as the EZ Stepper 4 wire bus.
This converter operates from 12V to 40V, please consult the factory if you need to run at a lower voltage.
